Winter is both beautiful and terrifying

I am Skadi, Goddess of Winter and Hunting, and holder of the Ring of the Heavens, at your service. I'm also Asgardian, well sort of. Still have yet to figure out why my companions favor Midgard so; its always so blistering hot.

I was wondering when you would reveal yourself to us. There were so many gaps to the story, I knew there was another piece.

I was not aware I was in hiding… but I believe I understand which story you speak of.

Unintentional hiding but hiding none the less, not that you would be blamed for any such efforts. I would have hid had I had the ability to do so. You are Loki’s brother then?

Yes that would be I, what would you exactly want to know because I do not just tell my life to random people.

Random, oh I am offended young prince. None the less, I wish to know if you have ever spoken to your biological father? He and I, well let me just say that we do not see eye to eye.

Hello Sigyn my dear.

Hello Skadi. What are you doing so far away from the ice?

Just exploring. It does get rather warm around here some days, but the snow is never far away from me. What are you doing here?

thenorsegoddessofwinter replied to your post: And these wishes have now left you?

[He listened with intent and his arms followed her guidance. The way she sauntered around him, the way she gripped his shoulders… all sent him in to a kind of flutter. He made numerous attempts to remove his focus from her, culminating in the bow buckling as he chuckled.

She kissed his neck.

Instantaneously, he fired the arrow, out of surprise more than anything. As soon as he had released it, he averted his gaze to look at her.]

Cheek! [He beamed. His eyes returned to the arrow, just a few inches off the bullseye.]

Ha! [He laughed as he winked.] Good try…

Skadi smiled and laughed in approval at his shot, “I thought that might work, but there is always room for improvement.” With that she, very quickly, took one of her arrows, slung it into the bow he was still holding, and shot it off landing it at the dead center of the bulls eye.

She stepped out from behind him and walked over to where her own bow was placed, picking it up and exploring it with her fingers delicately.

[Her actions were so fast that he barely noticed the fresh arrow leave his bow. His head twisted in surprise, towards the bullseye and rapidly back the female deity. Loki’s mouth was agape…]

Congratulations.

[His emerald orbs traced hands and her dexterity with the bow she clasped. He shook his head, trying to remove her as a distraction before preparing another arrow to fire.]

She raised an eyebrow and smiled in his direction, “Do not congratulate me yet.” She took another arrow and this time slung her own bow. Slightly off in her aim she twisted the bow right as she shot off the arrow and it landed right next to the one she’d previously shot.

She smirked as she walked up behind him, “I will make you a deal, if you can split one of my arrows, I shall give you whatever you wish, within reason of course.”

thenorsegoddessofwinter replied to your post: And these wishes have now left you?

She was slightly impressed by his shot, without practice for so long yet completely able to lodge the arrow into something solid. “Thank you. I was always very serious with our lessons.” she said with a small smirk as she stepped back. “Would you like a chance to shoot on your own?”

[He let out a hum, amused with the situation.]

I am surprised that you would trust me alone with such a weapon!

[Taking another arrow, he managed to ready his ammunition before firing. He behaved as skillfully as he could, but haphazardly fiddled with the arrow and the string. He lined up, closed one eye and smiled.]

I do not trust myself.

[He fired…]

“You are not as bad as you think, plus I am not worried about you hurting me or anyone else. Things, my dear, can be replaced.” She walked up behind him and placed a hand on his shoulder, lifting his arm up to a perfect straight line with the shoulder, “Make sure that your arm is aligned before you let the arrow go otherwise you could lose control of the weapon.” She removed her hands from him, smiling deviously at her next plan, “Now I want to see how you shoot among distractions.” With those words she placed both of her hands on his shoulders, slowly slinking them down his back as her lips moved to his ear. She whispered almost indecipherable promises in Old Norse, things she figured would divert his attention. Her eyes awaited his move as she kissed his neck softly.

“Of course I remember that. No need to worry love, I can take care of myself now.” she said with a devilish smile as she picked up her bow and held it between her hands. Once she was done evaluating her own weapon she picked up another and handed it to him. “Do you remember how to hold it, or shall I guide you?” There was a sense of humor in her voice and she eyed him.

[The god smirked as he took the bow.]

Of course I do. [Loki laughed. He fumbled with the bow, attempting to impress her and failing miserably. He eventually stopped, assuming he was holding it correctly… Unfortunately, it was upside down.]

Skadi watched him with a smile as he fumbled around with the wooden weapon. After allowing him to make his attempt she took out one of her arrows and placed her bow on the ground. “Here.” she said as she took the bow and flipped it around for him, stepping to the side and aligning his arms in the correct position. With her arms over his as if she was teaching him how to putt, she placed the arrow in its normal position, “See that target on the wall, follow your arrow’s path with your eyes and make sure it will land where you wish it to.”

[As she wrapped her arms over his, his attention in the weapon dwindled. He focused entirely on her, feeling her breath, feeling her speak. Whilst staring at the target that she hinted at, he watched her from the corner of his eye.

His fingers massaged the string of the bow as he pulled it taught. He let go and, to his amazement, he it landed not far off target.]

You are good…
